Dear High School Grads…Do you want to live with your parents in your 30s and 40s? – Part 4

In the 3rd part of the 6-Part Series, we talked about having and using your career tools such as your resumes, cover letter and letters of recommendation work for you, as long as they are tailored to the career opportunities you truly want. You can go to the 3rd Part of the Series right here.

Now, let’s get into the 4th Part of the 6-Part Series which talks about learning how to handle yourself in job interviews and business meetings, like a BOSS!

If you have your career tools like your resumes, cover letters and letters of recommendation already working for you, then landing job/career opportunity interviews is the next progressive step. If you have never been through the interview process before, it can nerve racking! I can remember like it was yesterday, my first job interview, mind you it was for Arby’s…but I was in high school and my nerves were all over the place! Don’t think I still don’t get nervous. The difference between then and now is repetition, knowledge and strategic preparation. If you have no idea how to prepare for your next interview, please check out this resource to dominate and truly handle the interview, like a true BOSS. Fortunately for you reading this now, you get the benefit of my experience and knowledge, so your learning curve decreases by 80 percent.

Now, if you are going the entrepreneurial route and you start taking business meetings to develop key relationships, then you can schedule an interview session so you can get the results from the meeting you want, like closing the deal, getting the business contract or proposal signed or even a follow-up meeting.

Listen high school graduates, I understand this information is a lot to absorb, but look at the bright side…you are getting an outline to have your career and economic head start in life that most of my generation had to stumble, fight and struggle through. Being a responsible adult who gets to live their dreams, takes preparation, strategic tools, skills and knowledge. Execute these tools now, so your dream life will not die a dream but become your reality.
