I know and understand that life transitions can be hard sometimes. Knowing what to do and how to do it are taken for granted by people that have already been through the process. See… in high school you go to classes, listen to your instructors, take notes, pass tests, gain general knowledge… Those are all predictable. So what happens now? Real life begins. This transition does not have to be scary, if you have a plan and focus on executing your life and economic plan. Here are two action steps you can use to begin your transition to RESPONSIBLE adulthood.
Action Step #1. Start by being productive & make some money with a business or job you can get right now!
It makes no sense to be in your parents place once you are 18-years old and not find legal ways to make money. You can start off at places like…fast food places, coffee shops, restaurants, part-time work or even starting your own small business. The possibilities are endless! Keep in mind, this is literally just to start from somewhere, until you figure out what type of career you want. To get you started in the right direction, you can take full advantage of my FREE Dream Career Guide.
Action Step #2 Contribute to household bills, if you still live with your parents.
Once you have implemented Action Step #1, then start contributing to at least one or two household expenses. Your parents love you and want to help you, but you will make them proud when you take the initiative to start taking responsibility without them suggesting it. I know this transition is new and fresh but it’s better to plan and face it directly than you feeling the disadvantages of having responsibilities being thrown at you.
