How prominent company ignores their HR Dept

It’s been all over the news about the abrupt departure of Gabrielle Union from AGT or also know as America’s Got Talent after serving on the show for only one season. Based on the information being communicated by the press so far, the departure may have been due to alleged mistreatment of her and other employees on the basis of race and gender. From what has been reported so far, there has been no formal charges filed but the network’s reputation of treating people unfairly is not new.

From an #HR standpoint, the network is not using or listening to their human resources department or they would not have been in this position in the first place.

As as business owner/entrepreneur, you want to avoid these type of compliance issues because they can cost your business their amicable reputation. If, as a business owner, you struggle to maintain compliance with these and other employment laws, reach out to me here so we can connect.

There’s so much damage the network could have avoided, had they listened to their HR Department.

Disappointed that “The Banker” movie may not be released

This is an important story that MUST be told & seen. The Banker captures the story of two melanated men using the cultural biases and racially discriminatory environment of the 1950s to establish themselves in the banking industry. They used their access to banking to help others obtain home and business loans.

It’s a powerful story of using disadvantages to your advantage, which I find profound. In your career and life, you can learn and take actions to use biases, challenges and disadvantages to change history.

Pursuing Your DREAM Comes with Responsibility

This video was inspired by an Asian American young lady talking to #GaryVee about trying out her enterpreneurial idea but her parents forcing her to go to college…no exceptions. Gary went on to explain that if she truly wanted to pursue her dream, she may have to move out & be responsible for herself.

This video shows the young lady what it may take to pursue her dream idea….it takes responsibility. If you’re trying to figure out what your next #entrepreneurial idea or #dreamcareer & don’t know where to start, check out my FREE Resource here.

Focus On What You Can Control

Can you control when a company puts out an ad for an open position? You can only control how you respond to the open position. In life & your career, there are some factors that are out of your control, so don’t concentrate on that. Focus on how you represent yourself in-person and on paper with your #careertools, to get the best possible results.

If you’re not sure if your career tools like your #resumes #coverletters or #lettersofrecommendation represent you well…check out my resource here to make sure tools are working for you in the #jobmarket.
