Disappointed that “The Banker” movie may not be released

This is an important story that MUST be told & seen. The Banker captures the story of two melanated men using the cultural biases and racially discriminatory environment of the 1950s to establish themselves in the banking industry. They used their access to banking to help others obtain home and business loans.

It’s a powerful story of using disadvantages to your advantage, which I find profound. In your career and life, you can learn and take actions to use biases, challenges and disadvantages to change history.

New to the job market? Do these 5 things…Part 2 of 5

In Part 1 of the “New to the job market” series, I discussed the importance of having your #careertools prepared. Watch Part 1 here.

In order for you, the new job seeker, to become successful, you cannot do it alone. Your personal #network is extremely important. I don’t mean just simply reaching out to people you know and asking them for job leads or opportunities, but truly #connect with your network.

Take the time to find out how they are doing and “LISTEN” to them. You may be surprised by what you find out and how you can be helpful.

I will be discussing the importance of your online presence in Part 3 of the series, so look out for it.
